This lightweight homologation special finished 12th at the 1968 Monte Carlo Rally; it was prepared by Scania Varbis and driven by Swede Ake Anderson. The car was also road raced throughout Europe during the 1970s and is original except for the paint and bodywork. The 911T/R was Porsche's first homologation special based on the 911. It resulted from the FIA's reclassification of the 911S into the same category as the 911T. The T was quite a bit lighter and was allowed to be equipped with the S engine for competition, so the T/R became the choice for Group 3 GT class competition cars.
