1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta

In 1956, Alfa Romeo offered a Veloce version of their Giulietta 750 Series. Body styles included a 4-door Berlina Sedan, a 2-door Sprint Coue, and a Roadster (Spider). Power was from a dual-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine displacing 78.7 cubic inches and offering 50 horsepower. The Sprint models produced 65 horsepower. The Giulietta Veloce models had two Weber carburetors, altered cam timing, steel-tube exhaust headers, a 9.1:1 compression ratio, and produced 90 horsepower. In the front, there was an independent suspension setup with transverse wishbones and variable-rate coil springs. In the back was a rigid axle setup connected to the frame by an upper triangular thrust rod and lower radius rods. The cars had hydraulic drum brakes and a four-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh.
