1977 Porsche 928 Coupe

This 928 is the first of twelve pre-production 928's hand-built in February of 1977 to be used for early press review, factory use, and factory testing. While some of these cars went on to become automotive magazine celebrities, Number One was in possession of the Porsche factory until 1979. Little is currently known about how the car was used during its first two years at Porsche.

This car reached the United States in 1983, and was stored inoperable from 1995 to 2017. It retains hundreds of factory hand-built features that are unique to only a few pre-production 928s. Many of these features are of superior design and quality to the production models that came only a few months later.
