Oldsmobiles continued their success on the oval tracks of NASCAR including a 1957 Golden Rocket 88 piloted by a rookie driver named....Richard Petty - sporting the new famous #43. The Starfire prefix was added to all 98 models this year and the Holiday moniker denoted the hardtop pillarless roofline. This was Olds top-of-the-line entry and it featured a larger 277 horsepower 371 cubic-inch Rocket V-8 along with power steering, power brakes, and a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
This example includes optional power windows, super deluxe radio, electric antenna, back-up lights, outside rearview mirror, glare-proof tilt-type mirror, E-Z- Eye tinted glass, and deluxe stainless steel wheel discs.
