The Ferrari 330 GTC was shown to visitors of the Geneva Motor Show in 1966 and was one of Maranello's first road-going cars that combined both comfort and a dynamic driving experience. Its elegant styling was courtesy of Pininfarina with many of its design cues inherited from Ferrari's previous models. At the front were an eggcrate oval grille and a similar nose section to the 500 Superfast. At the back, the rear section was reminiscent of the 275 GTS, and its slender A- and C-pillars had shapes similar to those bestowed upon the 250 GT Lusso. The interior was comfortable and open with the driver being greeted by a three-spoke Nardi steering wheel. There was a full complement of instrumentation, bucket seats, and power windows. Optional equipment included Borrani wire wheels, a radio, and air conditioning.
The 3,967cc Type 209/66 SOHC V-12 engine used three Weber DCZ6 twin-choke carburetors and delivered 300 horsepower at 6,600 RPM. It was paired with a five-speed manual transaxle while four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes provided the stopping power.
The chassis design followed a similar formula used by the 275 GTB, including its disc brakes and four-wheel independent suspension. The traditional open driveshaft was replaced in favor of a more modern torque tube, resolving driveline vibration issues.
This particular lat-production Ferrari 330 GTC was completed on December 19th of 1968. By the close of that month, the car had been delivered to Motor S.a.s. di Carla Allegretti e C., the authorized Ferrari dealership in Rome, it was sold to its first owner, Count Tommaso Antolini Ossi. A few months later, it was registered to its second owner, Klaus Kinski, who sold it to Carlo Lombardo of Milan, and it was exported to the US in 1972.
The Ferrari passed through several owners in the United States and Canada. In 2014, it was purchased by Jonathan Segal of San Diego who commissioned a nut-and-bolt restoration by Bill Attaway Restorations in La Mesa, California. The work took three years to complete and when it was done, it wore its original shade of Marrone Colorado and the new interior was done in as-delivered black leather.
Shortly after the restoration was completed, the car was acquired by its current caretaker.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2022
