2018 Porsche 935 Coupe

  • Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99ZKS199150
  • Serial Number: 50
Porsche unveiled the 935/19 at Laguna Seca Raceway in California during the Rennsport Reunion VI in fall 2018. This modern car was a tribute to the original 935 race car, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The debut of the 935/19 coincided with Porsche's 70th anniversary. Production of this limited-edition car was restricted to just 77 units and offered only to the company's top clients.

The Porsche 935/19 is based on the 991.2-generation 911 GT2 RS Clubsport. It is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that delivers a whopping 700 horsepower. The engine is paired with Porsche's seven-speed, automated manual PDK gearbox. Most of the body of the 935/19 is made of carbon-fiber composite parts, which gives it an aggressive and aerodynamic exterior with lightweight characteristics. The car's profile is similar to the 935/78 long-body of the 1970s, with its shape honed for stability and driving dynamics. The car can go from zero to sixty mph in just 2.5 seconds, and it has a top speed of 211 mph.

Among the fully FIA-compliant materials installed were a welded-in roll cage, an escape hatch in the roof, an electrically triggered fire-extinguishing system, and a special Recaro wrap-around racing bucket seat with a six-point safety harness and cushions. A similarly configured passenger seat could be added as optional equipment, one of the many racing-oriented options that were offered.

The well-equipped 935/19 came with air-conditioning as standard, along with a carbon-fiber and Alcantara trimmed interior, and a central locking system. A semi-circular, quick-release, multi-function steering wheel includes a pit speed-limiter control. There were rear-view mirrors, LED lighting, dual exhaust outlets with 'cookie-cutter' baffles, and aerodynamic wheel covers.

Eight different liveries were available for the 935/19, and each was inspired by those used on historic Porsche racecars. This particular example, number 50 of 77, wears the iconic Gulf Oil livery. It has 18-inch center-locking Cup wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, the Sports Chrono Package, cruise control, and dual-zone climate control.

This Porsche was part of Todd Blue's significant Porsche collection and remains in 'new' condition, having accrued negligible mileage. Mr. Blue drove the car for approximately four parade laps around Road Atlanta.
