In 1954 the Buick Landau show car was built on a Roadmaster chassis and was reminiscent of the classic landaus from the 1930s. The chauffeur's compartment was in blue leather and sealed off by a divisional electric window. The rear compartment had beige leather with mutton carpeting. Note the leather straps on the padded trunk and the landau top, which was hydraulically operated. The spare tire could be found in a compartment that was behind the swing-down rear bumper.

This Buick Landau (#2667338) is one-of-a-kind special-built car by General Motors for the 1954 General Motors Motorama Show. The car is a prototype and first appeared in the Miami Motorama Show, not having been completed in time for the show at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City earlier that year. It was later featured at the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago Motorama shows of 1954. After the show circuit, it was scheduled for scrapping, but was put into service in New York City by Harlow Curtis, then-President of GM. It shuttled VIPs around New York City until it returned to Flint, Michigan, once again for scrapping. It was saved from the boneyard by a Buick executive who purchased it from GM.

This rare and significant Buick is built on a 1953 Roadmaster chassis, and is powered by a renowned Buick Fireball V-8. The car has a metal 'S.O.' tag under the hood, signifying that it was a 'Special Order' built by GM. The mileage is original and the car has had a thorough on-chassis restoration. The rear top folds down limousine-style, via electric-hydraulic power. Note the leather tie-down straps on the rear compartment. The rear bumper is also unique in that it hinged and conceals the spare tire. With the exception of the chauffeur's front seat, it is outfitted in typical limousine opulence, and is an exceptionally rare car.
