Originally manufactured in Rochester, NY by Mr. W. Henry Artzberger, it was later built and sold in 'Allegheny City' - now 'North Side'. Pittsburgh built cars were re-named 'Artzberger'. Total production 1899-1905 approximately 165. Only two are known to exist after a 15 year search.
On Saturday, June 20, 1903 a Foster-Artzberger steam car won first place in a hill climbing contest up Serpentine Drive, Schenley Park, Pittsburgh PA.
