The Alfa Romeo 2000 was a two-liter supercar built to pay homage to the many victories achieved by the early 1930's and 1940's Alfa Romeo race cars. A spaceframe 'Sportiva' chassis, also seen on the Disco Volante, DeDion rear axle, and hemispherical combustion chamber engine producing nearly 140 horsepower was used. Bertone's Franco Scaglione was tasked with designing a short, lightweight body that would sit atop the spaceframe chassis. Two designs were created, a Coupe and a Spyder. Production was low, only two Spyders and two Coupes were created, meaning they were extremely exclusive even by today's standards. This road-going supercar was very competitive in its day. It incorporated modern design techniques and technological advancements.
