The XL-7 features a standard V6 - unlike most of its competitors. All XL-7 models come wîth a 2.7-liter, 24-valve, DOHC engine, developing 185 horsepower and 184 foot pounds of torque, providing up to 3000 lbs. of towing capacity.
Air conditioning wîth automatic climate control and micron air-filtration system
The automatic climate control system maintains the interior temperature at the desired level. The micron air-filtration system screens out dust and pollen to keep the interior comfortable and clean.
Power windows and door locks
The XL-7 is equipped wîth power windows and door locks….All included as standard equipment.
3-channel Anti-lock Brake System wîth Electronic Brake-force Distribution
Standard on XL-7 for 2006, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) maximizes §teering control during heavy braking on slick roads. By preventing lockup, ABS helps to steer clear of obstacles. In addition, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) uses electronic controls to distribute less pressure to the rear brakes during panic braking to prevent rear wheel lock-up.
Dual-stage driver and front passenger airbag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) wîth front passenger seat weight sensor
Dual-stage front airbags are capable of deploying wîth reduced or full force for appropriate levels of safety. The front passenger seat weight sensors prevent deployment of the front passenger seat airbag if the occupant weighs less than an average adult, as airbag deployment can be an additional hazard to a child.
Tilt §teering-wheel wîth integrated audio controls
The premium in-dash CD player also plays CDs wîth MP3 and WMA audio files, and comes XM Satellite Radio-ready for musical versatility. Steering-mounted audio controls are a standard safety feature on XL-7.

When the Suzuki XL-7 was first introduced, it was basically a enlarged version of the Grand Vitara. The Suzuki Grand Vitara had a rear-wheel drive platform and powered by a V6 engine that displaced 2.7-liters. Four-wheel drive was optional, which added to the vehicle's versatility.
The Suzuki XL-7 was the least expensive SUV available with three-row seating in North America. Over 20,000 examples were sold each year and was eventually awarded a Consumer's Guide Best Buy award. The competition took notice, and soon began taking sales away from the XL-7.
Suzuki partnered with General Motors, something they have done in their past on other models, and introduced the new version of the XL7 for 2007. it shares the same unibody platform and many mechanical components of other General Motors products such as the Pontiac Torrent, Saturn Vue, and Chevrolet Equinox. The third row seating, however, is exclusive to the Suzuki XL7. The vehicle is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated at just over 250 horsepower. The wheelbase measures 112.4-inches and has a length of 197.2-inches.
