1933 Continental Beacon news, pictures, and information
The total number of Beacons made was 4.092 and it sold for $395.00.
Mr. Smith found out about the car in 1959 and tried for over 10 years to buy the car. Finally succeeding in late 1968 he was able to purchase the car.
Then the work really began looking for parts at both Charlotte and Hershey meets for over 30 years. They found the flying girl at a swap meet and what would cost 95 cents in 1933 cost them $250.
Several interesting points about the car:
- Engine mounting was patented 3-point, cushioned on live rubber
- Brakes are four-wheel Steeldraulic
- Springs are single shackled transverse front and double cantilever rear
