Westfield Sportscars is proud to announce the launch of the Westfield Sport 2000 S. A major overhaul of the now famous Westfield SEI. The wide-bodied independent rear suspension self build car of which over 7000 have been manufactured in the past 15 years.
The Engine and Gearbox
Powered by a four cylinder, sequential fuel injected, all aluminium Dunnell modified Ford i4 Duratec producing a massive 250BHP or 495BHP per ton which will rival any car in it's class.
The engine is now bolted directly to the chassis using a crossbeam on the front face of the sump in a clubman style instead of the traditional pedestal rubber mountings; it is also fitted with extra bracing at the top front and a crossbeam at the lower rear end of the engine.
Fitted as standard is a Dry Sump System which helps protect the engine from oil starvation. This gives better ground clearance allowing the Westfield enthusiast to run a much lower ride height, lowering the cars centre of gravity.
The gearbox is a full competition specification aluminium six speed sequential that has straight cut dog gears all of which are interchangeable giving the driver of the car a choice of ratios and a quicker smooth gear change.
Exhaust
With the introduction of lower decibel limits on track days and the current registration legislation (single vehicle approval) Westfield have designed a brand new exhaust system, which still delivers the popular race car sound and feel. The exhaust is a large bore with equal length headers, 4 in to 1 with a 6inch large bore re-packable sport silencer.
Brakes
The stopping power behind the Westfield Sport 2000 S is the highly developed AP 4 pot front callipers fitted with a fully adjustable bias race master cylinders.
Instruments
The car is fitted with a Stack ST500 system, which integrates Tachometer, sequential shift lights, lap timing and speedometer
The Chassis
This is the first major overhaul of the Westfield wide-bodied chassis since it was introduced to the self-build market over 15 years ago.
The chassis has been constructed using 18 standard wire gauge (SWG) weight steel making it over 15% lighter than the normal Westfield Chassis. It has many new features due by the introduction of the new engine mounts which not only secures the engine in the car but also stiffens the chassis giving the car far higher torsional rigidity, resistant to twisting forces helping it deliver the road and track performance now expected from a Westfield.
Suspension
The famous highly developed double wishbone independent rear suspension of the Westfield SEI fitted in over 7000 cars worldwide remains the same. The front suspension now offers oval wide tracked front wishbones coupled with a new wide tracked cantilever front anti roll bar giving the car even more stability in fast track cornering
Interior
Westfield have repositioned the newly designed Motorsport seats by lowering them by 2 inches / 50 mm in the chassis. Just like the engine, by lowering the driver and passenger in the car it lowers the centre of gravity. Also by lowering the seat Westfield's taller enthusiasts will no longer have to look over the top of the windscreen.
Roll bar
This has been specifically designed by the expert roll bar company Caged, who have used PTG700 tubing to create a strong and durable roll bar
Wheels and Tyres
The Sport 2000 S is fitted with Team Dynamics Ultra Light, heat-treated competition wheels, which were designed and developed, by one of the World top Touring Car Teams from the Pro Race range.
The size of the tyres fitted to these is 205/50x15.
