Perhaps the only thing as luxurious as feeling the wind in your hair is knowing the traffic is at your back. Combine the 6-speed automatic ZF transmission with the 294-horsepower (XK8) or the 390-horsepower (XKR) engine for blistering performance as fiery as the vehicle´s looks.

4.2-liter V8
The XK8 uses a 4.2-liter 32-valve V8 engine, delivering 294-horsepower and 303 lb.-ft. of torque. Translate the above technical information to come up with an easy-to-understand fact: it goes 0-60 in just over 6 seconds.

Supercharged 4.2-liter V8
The XKR´s supercharged 4.2-liter V8 engine, featuring twin intercoolers, generates 390-horsepower and a peak torque of 399-lb ft. The impressive result: 0-60 in just 5.2 seconds for the coupe, and 5.3 seconds for the convertible.

6-Speed Transmission
Every XK utilizes a technologically advanced 6-speed ZF automatic transmission, generating powerful off-the-line performance, and seamless shifting.

CATS
CATS (Computer Active Technology Suspension)—standard on the XKR—uses continually adjustable shock and suspension settings to optimize ride and handling balance, regardless of road conditions or driving styles.

Handling Package
The Handling Package—optional on the XKR Coupe—offers aggressive maneuvering capability by combining cross-drilled Brembo® brake rotors with silver calipers, revised Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) damper settings, re-tuned power steering, improved coil springs, and rollbars.

Brembo® Brakes
The powerful performance of the XK requires the impressive stopping power of the Brembo® R Performance disc brakes, with four-piston floating aluminum calipers measuring 13.98-in. diameter up front and 13.0-in. diameter at the rear (standard on the XKR).

Cross-drilled with Red Calipers
Extreme braking requires innovative measures to meet Jaguar performance standards. The XK´s brake discs are ventilated to allow air to rush through, reducing temperature and restoring optimum braking performance. As a special order option on the XKR, the Brembo® brakes can be cross-drilled and the calipers powder-coated red.
