The 180-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 engine on Town & Country and LX provides consistent performance under a variety of driving conditions.
The available 205-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine on Touring and Limited provides impressive power to maneuver confidently.
Town & Country's independent front suspension provides outstanding control, stability, and a precise feel for the road. A load-leveling rear suspension is included wîth the available Trailer Tow Prep Group to help maintain a consistent ride height and suspension travel.
Standard on Touring and Limited, Town & Country's low-speed traction control uses the antilock brake system to detect slip and apply braking power to help the wheel regain traction.
If your travel plans include towing, there's an available Trailer Tow Prep Group for long-wheelbase Town & Country models that includes a load-leveling suspension, heavy-duty cooling, 600-amp battery, 160-amp alternator, and trailer-tow wiring harness. When properly equipped wîth the Trailer Tow Prep Group you will be able to tow up to 3,600 pounds wîth your Town & Country.
Safety
Town & Country was designed and engineered wîth your family in mind to help make every trip as safe and secure as possible. Standard on short-wheelbase models are next-generation multistage driver and front passenger air bags. Long-wheelbase models are equipped wîth advanced multistage driver and front passenger air bags wîth an occupant classification system (OCS). The OCS adjusts the deployment force of the passenger-side front air bag based on passenger weight. A standard driver's inflatable knee blocker adds more protection.
Supplemental side-curtain air bags† for all three rows offer additional protection to outboard occupants. They are standard on Limited and available on all Town & Country models.
Town & Country's available tire-pressure monitoring system uses wireless technology. Wheel-rim-mounted electronic sensors transmit tire-pressure readings to a display inside the vehicle. If pressure in one or more tire falls above or below preset system levels, a warning will be displayed in the instrument panel and on the Electronic Vehicle Information Center on vehicles so equipped.
Power-assisted antilock brakes are equipped wîth electronic sensors that help prevent wheel lockup, offering improved §teering control under extreme braking and/or slippery conditions. Antilock brakes are optional on short-wheelbase Town & Country models, standard on long-wheelbase models.
The remote keyless entry system, standard on all models, includes lock and unlock functions and allows you to open and close the optional power liftgate and power sliding doors. It also controls the available vehicle security alarm, and a standard panic alarm that helps make the walk to your parked Town & Country feel more secure.Source - Chrysler

A company that has marketed a far-reaching production in various countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Taiwan and the U.S., Chrysler has earned their repuation for the best-selling minivans in the United States.
Completely eradicating the negative image that America held regarding family transportation, Chrysler reformed the idea of usable space for passengers and cargo.
Marketed by DaimlerChrysler, the Chrysler Town and Country was introduced in 1990. The vehicle was meant to be a companion to the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager.
The Chrysler Town and Country is one of the first-ever luxury minivans.
Using the Chryler S platform that was closely related to the K-cars, the original Town & Country minivan came standard with an electronically four-speed automatic transmission
The Chrysler AS Platform was used from 1991 until 1995 in the Town and Country.
In 1991 the 'Quad Command' bucket seats were made standard on the Town and Country. Anti-lock brakes were available in 1991 and intregrated child safety seats were installed in 1992. The Town and Country became the first minivan that met 1998 U.S. federal Safety standards.
More than 11 million Chrysler Dodge and Plymouth minivans have been sold since production began in the fall of 1983.
Marking the twentieth anniversary, the Platinum Series Town & Country was released.
For 1996 and 1997, the Town & Country was on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list.
In 1997 an available option was permanent all-wheel drive on long-wheelbase minivans. All-wheel drive models received 4-wheel disc brakes. Becoming standard on all 1997 Town & Countries was the rear driver's side sliding door.
The lineup for 97 included two long wheelbase modes: the LX and LXi, and a short-wheelbase SX model.
In 2000 the short wheelbase minivan was dropped. Leaving only extended wheelbase models, these models seated seven and had sliding doors on each side.
The following year, Town and Country minivans utilized the Chrysler RS platform.
The newly designed 2007 and 2008 models are expected to be redesigned by Ralph Gilles. Gilles is aclaimed for his work on the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum. Production is expected to commence at Windsor Assembly.By Jessica Donaldson
