Maybe it's the new 2006 Accord Coupe that's turning up the heat. Sporting a sleek new exterior and a luxurious interior, the Accord Coupe proves that you don't have to choose between style and comfort. 4-cylinder models feature an i-VTEC® 166-horsepower engine, and the 3.0-liter, VTEC® V-6 pumps out 244 horses. The EX V-6 6-Speed Accord Coupe is a technological marvel that features unique 17' wheels, a 180-watt 6-disc in-dash CD premium audio system and manual transmission for greater power and control. Thank goodness for the dual-zone automatic climate control system (on all EX-L and EX V-6 models) to help cool you off when the temperature rises.
With more cars in the world than any other time in history, Honda knows the environmental challenge is more important than ever.
For three decades, Honda has played a leading role in meeting the environmental challenge. Our approach has always focused on those vehicle and fuel options we believe have the greatest real-world potential. The goal is not engineering prizes or newspaper headlines. The goal is to make environmentally friendlier products that our customers want to buy because the products are easy to own and fun to drive.
The Accord Coupe: You can run, but you don't need to hide.
With the Accord Coupe, you can truly have it all, without the guilt. Because not only is this a beautiful, powerful machine, it's also easy on the environment. In this case, seeing really is believing. The pure, streamlined shape of the Accord Coupe actually improves aerodynamics to enhance gas mileage and increase efficiency.
In January 1995, Honda unveiled a prototype of the Accord that met the stringent California Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standard. Honda then went on to become the first manufacturer to offer ULEV-rated emission technology on a production vehicle. Today, Accord V-6 models sold in California and parts of the Northeast are rated as Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicles (ULEV-2). Four-cylinder models with automatic transmission sold in the same areas meet even stricter Partial-Zero-Emission Vehicle (PZEV) standards.
With new intake and exhaust tuning for 2006, both Accord engines now produce more power with greater economy—because nobody ever said that being kind to the environment had to mean sacrificing fun.
Finally, it's good to know that the Accord Coupe is among the many Honda vehicles specifically designed so that the various plastics used can be easily removed at the end of the vehicle's life for improved recycling. Have it all, while giving back.
Honda's Safety for Everyone philosophy is more than a motto—it takes shape in the advanced safety features of our vehicles. Every Accord has standard Daytime Running Lights (DRL), ABS brakes and front, front, side and side curtain airbags. And now V-6 Accords feature standard Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) as well. It's that kind of thinking that earned several Honda vehicles 5-star crash-test ratings.Source - Honda
