Abt Sportsline's motto in motor sport is driving without compromises. This philosophy also applies for their state-of-the-art tuning concepts. At the IAA 2005 in Frankfurt Abt is now presenting a model where compromises will definitely not be accepted. The vehicle's title is Abt Sportback AS3-R and delivers an output of 300 HP.
The new Sportback AS3-R is no diplomat but an ambitious athlete. This is also clearly expressed by the abbreviation »R« which stands for Racing. Heartbeat emotions are created when the 300 HP of the Abt model are freed. Following an intensive research and test programme, the Abt engineers have developed a power upgrade on the basis of the 2.0 litre TFSI Turbo quattro engine resulting in 300 HP and a maximum torque of 370 Nm. The kit which consists of a modified motor management, Abt turbo charger and a 4-pipe rear muffler is responsible for the power increase of 100 HP and 90 Nm compared to the standard model. The dates of the Sportback AS3-R are accordingly uncompromising. It races from 0 - 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h.

The suspension kit, which can be adjusted in height, pressure and rebound, guarantees optimal power transmission on to asphalt. The suspension set-up was made in consideration of the power of the Abt Sportback AS3-R with the aim of achieving optimal driving dynamics. The result is impressing. The vehicle's reaction to steering activities is prompt and direct. Tight corners and fast shifts in direction mean sheer driving pleasure. Despite the sporty set-up, a near-to-production comfort for everyday use is maintained.

The vehicle's athletic features are highlighted by lowering the body by as much as 40 millimetres. The aerodynamic parts for the Sportback AS3-R such as front spoiler, side skirts, rear spoiler and rear skirt prove that no compromises where made in the vehicle's design, either. The design of the add-on parts is discreet and functional. You will see at first glance that this cannot be a production model. The Sportback AS3-R communicates pure understatement as Abt Sportsline epitomises high grade tuning.

The Sportback AS3-R is equipped with the new Abt light alloy wheel AR kept in the classical five-spoke design. The one-piece wheel in the size 8.5x19 inch is fitted on tyres of technology partner Continental in the size 225/35.

The Abt Sportback AS3-R with its 300 HP obviously does not accept any compromises. It is a true athlete creating heartbeat emotions.
