The main business of Peel Engineering Company, located on the Isle of Man, as making fiberglass molds for motorcycle fairings and boat hulls. The company entered the car market in 1955 with he P50. Peel's best known car, the P50, is recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records as the smallest road-legal car ever produced.

Powered by a 49 cc DKW single cylinder, the 250 pound P50 is a mere 4'-5' long, 3 feet and 3 inches wide and four feet tall. The body is essentially a single seat surrounded by a one-piece fiberglass shell, incorporating a single headlight. A simple but useful 'reversing handle' is attached to the rear body, allowing the operator to simply and easily pick up the rear of the car and swing it in and out of a parking space. Approximately 50 were built.

Peel is a city located on the Isle of Man located between England and Ireland where the famous motorcycle TT course is run every year.

The P50 is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the smallest street-legal car.

This one passenger vehicle measures 4'5' long, 3'3' wide, 4'high and weighs 250 pounds.

As it has a motorcycle engine, there is no reverse; rather a 'Reversing Handle' fitted on the back to pick the car up and turn it around.

Fifty examples of both the P50 and the Trident were built between 1962 & 1966.
