1964 Lang Cooper news, pictures, and information

Craig Lang commissioned the Lang-Cooper for famed racer Dave MacDonald. It was built in California on a Cooper Monaco chassis with 289 Cobra power and a body designed by Peter Brock. MacDonald never drove the car as he was killed at Indy in 1964, just prior to its completion.

The Lang's race record was unspectacular. In an era when aerodynamics were seldom understood, some vital components were deleted and it was a handful. Later, some pieces were refitted but, by that time, larger seven-liter engines were in vogue and the Lang slid into obscurity.

Bill Warner found the Lang in a junkyard in the mid-90s and restored it to museum condition. In 2004, Claude Nahum purchased the car and commissioned BRE to restore it to race condition, complete with its missing aero details. At a recent track test in California, the Lang performed as originally intended.
Waiting For The Canadian Grand Prix
Maranello, 4 June – After the first four races of the year, the talk is always of the start of the European part of the season, but in among the seven races that are still run on the Old Continent, there is one brief and entertaining interlude that sees everyone head across The Pond for the Canadian Grand Prix. It's a long-time fixture on the Championship calendar and a very popular one too, with Montreal hosting the race for the thirty fourth time this year, out of a total of 44 races he...[Read more...]
Usually In The Red In Monaco
Maranello, 20 May – It's been many, too many years since the roulette wheel has stopped on Red in Monte Carlo. Since then, no Ferrari has been first past the chequered flag, even in those years when Maranello's technical superiority seemed beyond doubt, such as 2002 and 2004. However, there have been plenty of podium finishes in the past eleven...[Read more...]

Formula One - Spanish Grand Prix
Kimi Raikkonen bagged his second podium on the trot in Barcelona, charging hard to finish third behind first time grand prix winner Pastor Maldonado and, by just half a second, Fernando Alonso. The Finn was disappointed not to finish on the top step, though, claiming that the Lotus E20 had the potential to have won every race this year so far. Nevertheless, he is now fourth in the Drivers' Championship, just 12 points behind leaders Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso. Starting on the sec...[Read more...]
