1964 Lang Cooper

1964 Lang Cooper 1964 Lang Cooper 1964 Lang Cooper Craig Lang commissioned the Lang-Cooper for famed racer Dave MacDonald. It was built in California on a Cooper Monaco chassis with 289 Cobra power and a body designed by Peter Brock. MacDonald never drove the car as he was killed at Indy in 1964, just prior to its completion.

The Lang's race record was unspectacular. In an era when aerodynamics were seldom understood, some vital components were deleted and it was a handful. Later, some pieces were refitted but, by that time, larger seven-liter engines were in vogue and the Lang slid into obscurity.

Bill Warner found the Lang in a junkyard in the mid-90s and restored it to museum condition. In 2004, Claude Nahum purchased the car and commissioned BRE to restore it to race condition, complete with its missing aero details. At a recent track test in California, the Lang performed as originally intended.
