VOLKSWAGEN ANDRETTI RALLYCROSS TEAM BRINGS THE HEAT TO THE SUMMER X GAMES IN AUSTIN

• Scott Speed and Tanner Foust will race the Beetle GRCs in the non-scoring, invitational race

Herndon, VA — After a strong performance at the first race of the season in Ft. Lauderdale, the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team heads to Austin, TX, for the Summer X Games. Without the need to concentrate on the Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship points battle, the team's sole focus will be to get the 560 horsepower Beetle GRCs to the front and take home another coveted X Games gold medal.

Tanner Foust will be looking to secure a tenth X Games medal behind the wheel of the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Beetle GRC. With nine medals earned since he first competed in a rally race at X Games XIII in 2007, he is one of the event's most experienced drivers and an elected fan favorite.

'The Volkswagen Andretti team worked hard getting the car ready for this race after coming from the incredibly tight course in Ft. Lauderdale,' said Foust. 'The Beetle GRC will be a tough competitor on this particular track, which includes fast straightaways and bumpy gravel.'

After a second place finish in Ft. Lauderdale last weekend, Scott Speed, driver of the No. 41 SHARK WEEK Volkswagen Beetle GRC, is hungry for his first win of the year and to defend his Summer X Games gold medal from 2014.

'There are a lot of expectations to live up to considering how well we ran here last year,' said Speed. 'With a new track and several new drivers it's going to be super competitive. Even though this race does not count for points, it's the one that everyone wants to win.'
