1942 Cadillac Series 75 news, pictures, and information

For 1941 Cadillac offered all of their vehicles with only one engine choice, an 346 cubic-inch eight-cylinder unit that produced 150 horsepower. The Series 75 and Series 67 both offered an Imperial 7-passenger Sedan but one sat on a 136 inch wheelbase while the other had a larger 139 inch wheelbase. The price ranged from 2890 for the Series 67 while the Series 75 cost $3295. The Series 75 Imperial Sedan proved to be more popular with 757 examples sold versus 210.

These were not the only bodystyles offered for the Series 67 or the Series 75. The Series 75 was available in formal sedans, business sedans, business imperial and others. The Series 67 was offered in four bodystyles with the most popular being the 4-door sedan with 315 units sold.

Formal Sedan

This vehicle is a 1942 Cadillac Series 75 Formal 7-passenger Limousine with coachwork by Fleetwood. The Cadillac Series 7533F Formal Limousine was the most expensive Cadillac that could be purchased in the very short production pre-War year of 1942. This Cadillac was featured in the motion picture 'The Aviator' starring Leonardo DiCaprio about the life of Howard Hughes.

Very rare model, this Cadillac is body number 1 of the 80 manufactured and is one of 2 known to remain. Howard Hughes actually owned body number 2 as his personal limousine as portrayed in the movie.
