The German importer of the Mosler MT900 has developed a special GTR version with a 7.0-liter LS7 engine producing 600 bhp. The MT900 GTR is a road-going version of the MT900 R built in England that captured championships in the British and Spanish GT Championships (2003 and 2004) and the FIA GT2 class (2005). The MT900 R has also competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona. Mosler Deutschland has joined with Mosler Automotive in England to produce the GTR, with the goal of producing the fastest production car for the track using high quality lightweight components and a reliable V8 engine. Other manufacturers have helped to develop the car including BBS, Dunlop, Recaro, Alpine, and others. The LS7 V8 engine, normally found in the Corvette Z06, has been upgraded to 600 bhp. Special attention has been made to government regulations, making sure that the car complies with laws in both Europe and the United States. The car has successfully completed crash tests for the front and side as well as roll tests.

Standard equipment on the MT900 GTR includes a front splitter, carbon fiber rear spoiler, venturi channel and rear diffuser, all of which provide enough downforce for the car to be driven upside down above 124 mph. The chassis and cockpit are made from carbon fiber in an aluminum honeycomb structure and have a combined weight of less than 200 pounds. Rear and front sub-frames are made of high-strength chrome-moly steel which promotes rigidity for the assembled axle, motor, and gearbox. A highly developed suspension uses chrome-moly double wishbones with adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars.

Handling

KW Automotive supply a fully adjustable racing suspension system, which has been developed to maximize the handling characteristics of the MT900 GTR on the legendary Nurburgring north circuit and giving a comfortable ride for street use. For the best braking characteristics and to save unsprung weight, the MT900 GTR can be fitted with six piston ceramic racing brakes from Movit. Dunlop is supplying special sport tires, which fit on custom-made aluminum wheels made by Work Racing. Ultra light magnesium racing wheels for minimizing unsprung weight are available from BBS.

Drivetrain

The MT900 GTR is powered by the newest generation 7.0-liter LS7 Z06 engine. Three power ratings are offered up to 600 bhp. A 6-speed manual gearbox is supplied by the German gearbox specialist Getrag in two different torque variations. For the more ambitious customer a sequential gearbox can be ordered from Hewland, the English race-gearbox specialist. For race aces, Hewland also offers ultra lightweight, high strength magnesium gearbox housings.

Interior

The MT900 GTR is equipped with electric windows, remote central locking, and a high quality efficient air conditioning system. Top quality audio is supplied by Alpine with ultra light carbon fiber speakers and digital amplifier which omit the need to compromise the light weight concept. The carbon fiber cockpit can be furbished in the finest hand-picked leather or alcantara to suit customer tastes. Race seats are individually chosen to suit customers and are supplied by Recaro. The design of the MT900 GTR instrumentation includes two analogue instruments and a multifunctional digital display. In the trunk there is an easily accessible luggage compartment with a made-to-measure set to utilize space.
