A further development of the McLaren-Mercedes MP 4-11 Formula 1 race car, the 1997 MP 4-12 like its predecessors, set new standards for driver safety. Changes to the front suspension, steering and a new crash zone at the rear of the vehicle represent further developments as compared to the 1996 season car.
The MP 4-12 presented here is the 1997 Australian Grand Prix winning car, as piloted by David Coulthard.
