2007 Honda Odyssey Combines Minivan Versatility with Luxury, Sophistication and Fun-to-Drive Character
Continuing to set the class benchmark for safety, fuel efficiency, performance, and sophistication, the award-winning Odyssey minivan enters the new model year wîth some additional refinements. For 2007, the Odyssey adds a tilt and telescoping §teering wheel, a center pocket coin holder and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) on all trim levels. Additionally, Nimbus Gray Metallic and Dark Cherry Pearl have been added as new exterior colors.'The Odyssey delivers rational attributes like class-leading safety and versatility,' said John Mendel, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 'But many minivan buyers also want an engaging driving experience and the Odyssey is the most fun-to-drive minivan around.'
The Odyssey has earned a 'Best Pick' rating from The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in it's frontal offset crash test, and has collected numerous top accolades including Consumer Guide's '2006 Best Buy,' Money magazine '2006 Best Minivan' and Kelly Blue Book '2006 Best Resale Value,' as well as a top rating in its class in the Ú.S. EPA's '2006 Fuel Economy Guide.'
In keeping wîth Honda's -leading 'Safety for Everyone' initiative, all Odyssey models come equipped wîth a comprehensive list of advanced safety features including anti-lock brakes; Vehicle Stability Assist(TM) (VSA(R)) wîth traction control; front side airbags wîth an Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS); side curtain airbag protection (with rollover sensor) for all three rows; and dual-stage, dual-threshold driver's and front passenger's airbags. The Odyssey also incorporates Honda's exclusive Advanced Compatibility Engineering(TM) (ACE(TM)) Body Structure that provides enhanced occupant protection in a frontal collision.Other advanced technologies available in the 2007 Odyssey include Variable Cylinder Management(TM) (VCM(TM)) cylinder deactivation technology that cuts three of the engine's six cylinders during cruising for improved fuel economy; Honda's DVD Entertainment System featuring a large 9-inch video screen, integrated remote control and wireless headphones wîth Personal Surround Sound technology; and Honda's Satellite-Linked Navigation System(TM) wîth expanded voice recognition capabilities and exclusive features like Zagat Survey(R) restaurant guide information.

VMI Introduces the First Wheelchair Accessible Honda Odyssey Minivan Conversion
VMI today announced it has begun sales of the first wheelchair accessible Honda Odyssey wîth the Northstar conversion. The company has completed all design, engineering and validation processes wîth the Honda Odyssey, which is their latest lowered floor side-entry minivan conversion. VMI has more than 150 authorized dealers who have been certified to sell and service the Honda Odyssey wîth the Northstar conversion.The Honda Odyssey has earned many significant automotive awards, including the IntelliChoice 'Best Overall Van Value of the Year' and 'Best Overall Minivan of the Year.' The VMI Northstar system is considered the highest-ranked lowered floor side-entry minivan conversion for both quality and reliability, and is time tested wîth more than 12 years in service. By taking the best-in-class minivan and modifying it wîth the finest conversion available, VMI is delivering the best of both worlds.

The Honda Odyssey wîth the VMI Northstar conversion offers more interior room than any other wheelchair accessible premium minivan on the market allowing for maximum wheelchair maneuverability. The floor is lowered 11 inches to enhance driver line of sight and provide generous headroom.
Other standard features on the Honda Odyssey wîth the VMI Northstar conversion include a powered in-floor ramp wîth non-skid surface for unrestricted entry and exit. The PowerKneel(TM) System automatically and gently lowers the vehicle to decrease ramp incline and increase accessibility. The low 8 degree ramp angle provides an almost effortless entry into the minivan and the shorter ramp length allows for parking in tighter places.
VMI purchases the vehicles from Honda, and then modifies them on a new assembly line at its Phoenix based facility. The first Honda Odyssey Northstar conversion vans began shipping to Mobility Dealers nationwide on October 10th.
