AUDI A8 CONTINUES TO GATHER AWARDS IN 2006

With the 2007 Audi S8 recently winning the Ward's 'Interior of the Year' honor for Best Sound System as chosen by the media, the Audi A8/S8 model line continues to get notoriety in the premium large-car segment. The A8 also won the Edmunds.com 'Editors' Most Wanted Sedan over $45,000' award this year. Since its introduction in the summer of 2003, the A8 model line has won numerous awards from both the media and the public.

Available in three different model configurations –A8, A8 L and A8 L W12 – the 2006 A8 model line continues to offer premium levels of space and luxury with a dynamic driving experience. Thanks to an Aluminum Space Frame (ASF) and body panels, the A8 weighs less than a comparable car with a steel structure. This allows for improved performance and fuel economy.

All A8 models come standard with Audi's legendary quattro all-wheel drive. The A8 and A8 L models have a refined 335 hp V8 engine, while A8 L W12 models have a powerful 450 hp W12 engine. The compact dimensions of these engines allow enough space for quattro all-wheel drive across the A8 line, a feature the competition lacks.

2007 promises to be another strong year for the A8 line. The 2007 S8 comes standard with a robust 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 450 hp (DIN). Along with a sport tuned adaptive air suspension, 20' alloy wheels with performance tires, and sport seats, and quattro all-wheel drive, the S8 offers serious performance in the premium large-car segment.

Another highly anticipated addition for 2007 is the available Bang & Olufsen sound system. This 1000 watt, 14-speaker system has already been receiving praise in the media for is clarity and powerful output. The Bang & Olufsen sound system will be available on all A8/S8 models.

AUTOWEEK READERS CHOOSE AUDI A3 AND A8 L AS BEST IN CATEGORY

AutoWeek magazine just released the results of their 16th annual 'Readers Choice Awards'. The Audi A3 and A8 L were chosen by the participants as the top choice in their respective categories. The A3 took top honors in the 'Best Economy Car' category, while the A8 L won the 'Best Luxury Car' category. The award winners were named after a six-week online poll conducted by AutoWeek magazine.

The A3 is Audi's entrant in the premium compact class, starting at $25,340. It is available with a 200 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with direct injection, or a 250 hp 3.2-liter narrow-angle V6 with Audi's revolutionary S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.

The A8 model line received new powertrains for the 2007 line-up. The 2007 S8 features a direct gasoline injected V10 FSI engine producing 450 hp, and can sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. A8 and A8 L models also get direct injection for their 4.2-liter V8 engines which now produce 350 hp. The A8 L W12 has a 450 hp 6.0-liter W12 engine. All A8/S8 models come standard with quattro all-wheel drive.
