The Murtaya has been designed from the outset by leading engineers from the automotive world ensuring that all of the latest technology and thinking being employed by the international motoring giants is incorporated into this car. The attention to detail is evident everywhere; from the striking styling, which manages to be menacing yet subtle from every angle, through to the main tub which provides a fantastic platform for the dynamic performance of the car. The structure has been designed using the very latest technology and methods.
CAD modelling and analysis ensure that all parts are a precision fit and the chassis is not only perfectly suited for the intended purpose, but designed from the outset to be strong and capable of dealing wîth the stresses and strains to which it will be exposed.
The car features a composite monocoque tub wîth GRP front clamshell, doors, boot lid and rear bumper. The engine and front suspension bolt onto a spaceframe that is multi pointed to the main tub in areas specially designed to feed the loads into the structure in a controlled manner, while the rear suspension, propshaft centre bearing and gearbox mount directly to the monocoque.
This provides a very stiff platform allowing the suspension to perform its job, keeping the wheels in contact wîth the road!
The running gear from the iconic Subaru Impreza donor vehicle is used in largely unaltered form making for a straightforward build. Any necessary modifications (propshaft and §teering column) are carried out by our engineers and included as exchange items in the kits that we offer.
The use of the rally proven Impreza drivetrain means that the performance of the Murtaya is spectacular, not just the astonishing straight line pace that the turbocharged engine delivers, but the incredible levels of traction and cornering grip generated by the four wheel drive give the car simply astonishing ground covering ability, all backed up by the wonderful offbeat noise created by the distinctive engine layout.
The exterior styling is the result of an extensive design process considering many factors including the overall visual impact that the car should create (Wow factor!), whilst taking into account practical matters such as ensuring there is plenty of useable boot space.
The finished product combines stunning aesthetic appeal wîth everyday practicality; the Murtaya is truly a car that can be used for trips to work, the shops, weekends away and annual trips to Le Mans wîth no problems, bags, tents and soft top all happily finding sufficient storage.
The Murtaya concept is one that has been thoroughly considered, carefully designed and beautifully executed by leading specialists to create an incredible mixture of style and substance, fantastic looks and perception altering performance.
Self Build
The Murtaya has been carefully designed to offer an exciting and straightforward project for home assembly. The only donor parts required are sourced from a single donor vehicle, the classic shape (1993-2000) Subaru Impreza in either normally aspirated or turbocharged form.
The donor vehicles are now readily available, particularly due to the high number of ‘grey' import cars that have been brought into the ÚK from Japan. These cars, especially the WRX and STI models, make for superb donor cars as the standard specification makes for an incredibly exciting package when built up wîth one of our kit options giving simply blistering performance and road holding. Complete donor cars are now on the market from £500 wîth imported WRX and STI's available complete wîth MOT from £1500-2500. A crash damaged car can make for a good donor, particularly if the damage is in the form of a side impact. Great care should be taken if the damage is to the front of the vehicle as it is common for this to result in hard to spot but significant engine damage. Suitable damaged vehicles have been sold through specialist auctions for as little as £99 making for an amazingly cheap option!
For the ultimate donor an Impreza Type R or Type RA should be sought. Although rarer, harder to find and more expensive, the list of competition homologation special components fitted as standard to these models create an incredible donor package that will build into a sensational sportscar.
The list of parts required from the donor vehicle is extensive and we therefore suggest the sourcing of a complete car as a donor rather than attempting to purchase the required components individually. The remaining parts not used can then be sold on and will assist in recouping some of the initial purchase price.
The build itself is well detailed in the build manual which includes many photographs to illustrate the various stages of the construction process. The main monocoque comes pre-drilled wîth all major mounting points clearly defined. This ensures that the basic geometry of your vehicle will be correct, simply leaving detailed camber and castor to be adjusted at the end of the build.
The careful design of the car ensures that a majority of the donor parts are used in unmodified form, wîth the parts that do need adjustment being offered on an exchange basis as part of the kit contents. This means that the mechanical build is largely a simple case of removing the parts from the donor and then bolting them straight into your new car. It is possible to get to a rolling chassis situation in a single day which is hugely satisfying and provides great motivation to tackle some of the more time consuming jobs such as trimming the interior.
Úndoubtedly the most intimidating aspect of the build for the home mechanic will be the wiring loom as there is an awful lot of it! However wîth some time and simple precautions this really should hold no fears. The loom is brilliantly designed wîth many simple connectors; these blocks will only fit together wîth the appropriate other half so it is difficult to go too far wrong. Take plenty of time when stripping down the donor car, labelling carefully the block connectors as you separate them and the re-assembly will straightforward.
its are offered in either modular or comprehensive formats to suit the individual builder. The Modular packages will allow those who are short of budget or space to complete their vehicle as money or room become available, whilst the Comprehensive package gives all that is required (other than the donor car) to finish the build. Please feel free to ring us to discuss your individual requirements.
Kit delivery time is approximately six weeks from the receipt of a completed order form wîth the appropriate paid deposit. The balance is required upon collection/delivery of the kit.
Factory Build
Adrenaline Motorsport can offer a range of factory built options from rolling chassis' through to turn key vehicles. Each vehicle will be specified individually to suit the owner's requirements, wîth options on engine, gearbox, suspension and interior trims available.
The entry level specification will offer a vehicle built from a donor component package offered by the normally aspirated Impreza Sport model delivering around 150bhp. The model line up then moves to the turbocharged platform and in excess of 200bhp. Special engine and transmission packages are available for those seeking the ultimate adrenaline rush wîth up to 395bhp and a six speed gearbox, giving a staggering 465bhp per tonne potential!
Two interior trim options will be offered for the factory built vehicles, either a fully trimmed interior or a stripped out lightweight specification. Colour and material combinations will ensure that each car is special and customised to the owner whilst leaving the opportunity for further enhancement, for example wîth Satellite Navigation or in car entertainment systems.
Standard equipment on all cars will include alloys wheels wîth high performance tyres, vented and grooved brake discs wîth ceramic compound brake pads, a folding soft top (hardtop wîth heated rear window available as a cost option), category one approved alarm and immobiliser, and an MP3 compatible CD head unit (other stereo options may be available to order).
Higher powered models will include brake upgrades, front mounted intercoolers, uprated fuel pump, 18' wheel and tyre combinations and further enhancements.
Price
Prices for factory built turn key cars start at £18,125 (ex works). As each build will be individually specified please contact us to discuss your ideal car and to receive a bespoke quotation for your dream machine.
We are also able to take a donor car provided by a customer and build the car to any agreed stage from rolling tub through to turn key. Please ring us to discuss your requirements if you have a suitable donor package and would like us to complete the build on your behalf.Source - Adrenaline Motor Sport
