1986 Shelby AC Cobra MK IV news, pictures, and information
This is an authentic AC Cobra MK IV built in Weybridge, Surrey England by AC/Autokraft/Ford. This is number 131 of only 348 produced. Built on the original AC bunks, the body is hand formed 16 gauge aluminum, requiring 200 man hours to produce with 14 coats of paint.
The main chassis is constructed from four-inch diameter solid drawn tubular steel, using AC 417 jib, M.I.G. welded. The suspension is fully independent and adjustable with rack & pinion steering. The transmission is a Borg-Warner 5-speed with a Salisbury rear-end.
The engine is a Ford 302 which has been removed, modified and replaced with an output of 350 horsepower. Zero-to-sixty takes less than five seconds.
