Having arrived in this world in 1973 as a 365GT/4BB, the Boxer, as it is commonly called evolved into the 512BB in 1976 and finally in 1982 as the 512BBi. The Boxers were different from the 365GT4 Daytona it replaced by not just being mid-engined but by the incorporation of a flat-12 engine derived from Formula One instead of the previous front engine V-12configuration.Source -
