MECUM AUCTIONS TO HOST AUSTIN, TEXAS, COLLECTOR CAR AUCTION DEC. 11-12Event will Feature 600 American Muscle Cars, Classics, Hot Rods and More

Walworth, Wis. – Nov. 17, 2015 – Mecum Auctions will host its second Austin, Texas, collector car auction at the Austin Convention Center this Dec. 11-12 with an estimated 600 vehicles expected to cross the auction block. The consignment list of cars includes a wide selection of American muscle cars, classics, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more.

The auction is open to buyers, sellers and spectators with general admission tickets available at the gate for $25 per person, per day; children 12 and younger receive complimentary admission. Bidder registration is $100 and includes admission for two for both auction days. Doors open each day at 8 a.m. with the auction beginning at 10 a.m. Portions of the Mecum Austin Auction will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network with a live stream of the entire auction presented at Mecum.com.

Among the auction's main attractions is the Dawn and Tony Lehoski collection of more than 30 cars. The group hails from just two-and-a-half hours southwest of Austin and includes a wide variety of high-quality and desirable vehicles. Among some of the top muscle cars in the Lehoski lineup are a four-speed 1970 Dodge Hemi Charger R/T (Lot S38), a 1968 Shelby GT500KR Fastback (Lot S39) and an unrestored 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda (Lot S38.1). There are also several vintage Corvettes and fine '50s-era Chevrolets included in the private collection. A 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition (Lot S100) with just 573 miles will serve as another main attraction at the Austin auction with recent sales of Heritage Edition GTs climbing upwards of a half-million dollars. Other notable consignments include a 1946 Chrysler Town & Country convertible (Lot S95) with just one owner through 2014 and a 1986 Buick Grand National (Lot S86), which was used in the opening scene of 'Fast and Furious 4' driven by actor Vin Diesel and was subsequently displayed at Universal Studios for two years.
