The Daimler DB18 was produced from 1948 through 1953 with a total of 608 examples being created. The DB18 Sports Special was the sporting version of the DB18, but it was more of a luxury vehicle to a performance machine, as the coachbuilt bodies were often very heavy. Barker was responsible for creating most of the bodies for these gorgeous machines. Most were bodied in drophead coupes or saloon configuration.
Under the bonnet was a six-cylinder overhead valve engine that provided 85 horsepower. Top speed was achieved around 85 mph with zero-to-sixty taking 23 seconds to accomplish.
