1950 Hudson Super Six Series 501

1950 Hudson Super Six Series 501 1950 Hudson Super Six Series 501 1950 Hudson Super Six Series 501 On February 24th, 1909, a group of Detroit businessmen pooled their resources to found the Hudson Motor Car Company. Among them was retailing stores magnate Joseph L. Hudson. The Hudson car was a very successful independent, remaining in the top five during the height of the Depression. After WWII, Hudson gathered its resources and beat the Big Three to market with the first really new postwar car, a modern, low silhouette, step-down design. Veteran automotive writer Tom McCahill named it the best handling and road-holding American car.

Lacking the resources to design a V8, Hudson boosted the performance of its six-cylinder. With great handling, a low center of gravity and the fast six engine, Hudson was a winner in many early NASCAR races in the late 40s and early 50s.

Hudson of this period is gaining more respect for their innovative design and racing achievements. This car is notable for spending decades on the first floor, of its proud owner's home. It is believed to be the best original condition, lowest mileage (15,560), most original, 1950 Hudson in existence. All critical parts of the interior, exterior, and the paint are original! The original list price for the Series 501 was $2,105, and 17,246 of all Super Six body styles were made.
