1937 AC 16/80 March news, pictures, and information
AC Cars of Thames Ditton in England is one of the oldest car companies still in existence. This AC Sports Tourer was designed by the Earl of March, circuit owner, racing driver and all-round motoring enthusiast. March, was as a young man had worked at Bentley Motors under W.O. Bentley, designed this underslung body for the AC 16/80 Sports Tourer, and the car was a great success in Europe. Three cars were exported to the United States in 1937 with slightly wider bodywork for the American market. The exercise was sadly not a success due to lack of factory support and planning. This is the only example of the three to survive. It has spent all of its life on the East Coast. For more information and related vehicles, click
