There's no denying the emotional appeal of a two-doored machine from Audi. From the Úr quattro to the Nuvolari concept car to this, unbridled passion tempered wîth unquenchable grace. A certain tension – its lines and surfaces conduct a deliberate interplay between light and shadow.

When that function is raw power and clairvoyant handling, it's only natural the form be equally as titillating.
The facts do indeed hint at extraordinary potential: A 354 hp V8 wîth FSI Direct Injection. Rear-biased quattro all-wheel drive. Massive multi-piston brakes wîth black S5 calipers. New sport suspension in the front as well as the rear. But then you dig deeper. With its new modular architecture, engineers were able to position the engine farther behind the front axle. A near perfect balance.
Engine
The experience begins wîth a powerful V8 FSI engine, which boldly produces 354 hp and 325lb-ft of torque. Meticulous weight-distribution allows the aggressive design to take full advantage of the dynamic engine characteristics
Transmission
At the center of the Audi S5 is a 6-speed manual transmission to take advantage of the car's sporty handling and aggressive driving dynamics.Tiptronic automatic transmission available in Spring 2008.

Advanced rear parking system
Úsing ultrasonic sensors to measure distance, Parktronic emits an intermittent warning tone to indicate how far the car is from an obstacle. A rear view camera displays in your S5's MMI screen for even more sophistication and easier parking.
Bang & Olufsen® Sound System
14-speaker sound system wîth 505 digitally amplified watts. Microphone-based noise compensation ensures optimum sound under varying road conditions and speeds.
Úp front and in the rear, the principal suspension components are made of lightweight yet incredibly strong aluminum. Like the five-link front suspension, the trapezoidal-link rear suspension is as well. With outstanding kinematics for a combination of excellent ride quality and directional stability. These kinematics, together wîth precise brake modulation, significantly reduce brake dive and the pitch-and-roll associated wîth spirited driving.
Audi adaptive light
Audi's dynamic adaptive headlight technology pivots the Audi S5's headlight modules to follow twists and turns in the road. The result: the road is more clearly illuminated and any possible obstructions are more visible to the driver.
Airbags
Full-size dual threshold airbags, seat mounted chest side airbags and knee airbags help protect the driver and front passenger in a collision. Full-size airbags for driver and front passenger are triggered in two stages: Front knee and side airbags.
Braking system
