The Alfa Romeo Arna was introduced at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show and would be produced from 1983 through 1987. In total, there were 53,047 examples produced. The car was a partnership between Alfa Rome and Japanese manufacturer Nissan.
The Arna was not an economical success for Alfa Romeo, and remained in production for only four years. It was initially a 3-door L version and a 5-door SL version. In 1984, a 3-door TI version was introduced fitted with a 1.3-liter boxer engine that made a top speed of 170 km/h possible. In 1985, a new more powerful 1.2-liter engine was available.
The Arna was succeeded by the Alfa Romeo 33.
