New York, NY—March 14, 2016— Daily News Autos today announced the first annual Daily News Auto Awards, honoring the top cars in America today in 16 different categories. Award winners were selected by a panel of 9 automotive journalists with over 100 years of collective experience evaluating new vehicles all around the world. 'We created these awards to honor best-in-class vehicles for a wide range of consumers,' said Daily News Autos Editor Nick Kurczewski. 'Our intent with these awards is to help consumers make a better choice for their next car purchase. We also wanted to have a little fun, so we included a Dream Machine category, because everyone loves to dream about what they could be driving.' Although the process was subjective, rooted primarily in the panel members' experience and expertise, the results reflect our collective love of driving while also focusing on exceptional value within each category. In our opinion, these are the best cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans you can buy today. 'Our categories reflect the proven interests of our growing audience,' said Kurczewski. 'The majority of our selections are priced below $50,000 and are fun to drive, while exceeding the standards of success within their respective automotive category.
