Robertson Racing, LLC to campaign Ford GTR in 2008

Robertson Racing is proud to announce the acquisition of a new Ford GTR (which will be car #40) built by Kevin Doran in Lebanon, Ohio. David and Andrea Robertson, owners of Robertson Racing, will be joined by a third driver for the 2008 season. Dick Barbour Racing will continue to operate this campaign from their Braselton, Georgia location. Construction has already begun and the car is expected to be delivered before the end of the year.

Currently running a limited race season this year, the Robertson's have used their GT2 time at Sebring, Detroit, Road Atlanta and Laguna Seca to familiarize themselves with the American Le Mans Series and the 'way things are done' in this world class organization.

'We are very excited about the new car and the introduction of the GTR in to the American Le Mans Series. Kevin Doran's organization is an excellent group to work with and are just as thrilled as we are with this new car' say owners Dave & Andrea.

Veteran Driver David Murry named 3rd driver for Robertson Racing in 2008

'We need a fast, consistent and personable race car driver'. This is the statement that Dave & Andrea Robertson, owners and co-drivers of Robertson Racing said to each other last week. Today, they are proud to say that David Murry of Atlanta, Georgia has become 'that' driver for the 2008 season.

For the teams' 2007 limited American Le Mans schedule, Murry was retained by the Robertson's as a driver coach during their numerous test days and, for the last two races of the season (Petit and Monterey), was included as a co-driver as well. Finishing 10th in class at Laguna in a Panoz GT-LM, the Robertson's announced their intention to drive the entire season in a Kevin Doran built Ford GT-R, competing in the GT2 class, of the 2008 American Le Mans Series.

David Murry has a successful and checkered-flag-finish race history. Starting in autocross and then on to Formula Ford, he moved on to working as a factory driver for well known manufacturers and currently competes in the Grand Am Series, Koni Challenge Series, American Le Mans Series and NASCAR Nextel Cup. In addition, David involves himself and gets great satisfaction from coaching evolving professional drivers, such as the Robertson's'. He is married with one son.

'We are proud and honored that David Murry has joined our racing family. He has been involved with us, in some way, since the start of this racing adventure when we decided to move up to the American Le Mans series. He is a great addition to our developing race team and, besides co-driving, know that we will learn a great deal from him' say the husband/wife team.

Robertson Racing will return to American Le Mans Series competition for a full season in 2008 with a Ford GTR built by Kevin Doran. The team competed in four races in 2007, including the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans, with a Panoz Esperante GTLM gaining valuable experience in the GT2 class. Team owners David and Andrea Robertson will be joined by David Murry for the season and will debut the Ford GTR at the 56th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh From Florida.
