The Seat 850, based heavily on the Fiat 850, was produced in both a two- and four-door version. Production in Spain lasted from 1966 through 1974. The engine was a four-cylinder unit that displaced 843cc.
SEAT (an acronym for Sociedad Espaola de Automviles de Turismo) was founded in 1950 as a subsidiary of FIAT with much of the ownership of the company being retained by the Spanish Government under the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. The factory was located in Barcelona.
