1972 Rawlson CR-11 news, pictures, and information | ||
| Tweet | ||
The Rawlson racing cars were created by Mike Rawlings of Dover. The first cars were built with James Henderson in 1961, who later drowned. Barry Sheppard joined near the close of the 1960s.
The CR7 appeared in 1969 and was basically just a re-bodied Lotus 23. A second car was created for Gerry Marshall in April of 1970. The F3 engine displaced 997cc and had twin 40 IDFI Weber carburetors. There was a Hewland MK5 gearbox. The car was later sold to Mike Yeomans in 1971.
The CR8 was the next vehicle from the Rawlson Company. It was a 2-liter car built in 1972. The CR9 was a 1300cc club-racer.
The CR10 was created in 1974 and powered by a BDG engine and mated to a FGA transmission.
This CR11 has been rebuilt and now raced in US historic races.
