1908 Talbot F4
This powerful car with 4-cylinder 5.5-liter engine was made in London, fitted with Roi des Belges coachwork by Rothschild, and supplied to a doctor in Sydney, Australia. Talbots were used extensively for the intercity motor races held in Australia prior to 1914 and they won the Sydney to Melbourne race several times. In 1908, 100 years back, a Talbot much like this one was the first to be driven from Adelaide to Darwin, covering 1,900 miles and enduring intense heat through the desert, passing through Tropical Rainforests and crossing crocodile swamps at a time when there were no roads, no gas stations, no rest stops or restaurants, the travelers had to hunt in the bust for every meal. This particular Talbot completed the 2007 Centenary Peking to Paris rally.| Vehicle Spotlight |
