1925 Packard Model 136

The Packard Model 136 reflected a wheelbase size of 136 inches. Power was from an L-head straight-eight engine with mechanical valve lifters, nine main bearings, a Packard updraft carburetor with Fuelizer, and delivered 85 horsepower at 3,000 RPM. A Lanchester vibration damper was fitted to the front end of the crankshaft, and vibration was reduced b a four-point mounting system for the engine. The engine was backed by a three-speed selective transmission with a nine-plate clutch and a shaft drive to spiral bevel gears. An air tire pump operated off the transmission. Mechanical brakes on all wheels provided the stopping power and a service brake activated the rear stoplights. Body styles included a touring, runabout, sport model, 4- and 5-passenger coupe, and a sedan. Watson stabilizers were installed at all four corners.
