1969 Oldsmobile 98

The Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight closed out the 1960s as being the company's top-of-the-line, full-size, rear-wheel-drive model. With its 127-inch wheelbase platform, it was the largest Oldsmobile product. Six body styles were available including a 2- and 4-door Holiday Hardtop, Town Sedan, Convertible, and Luxury sedan. Sales were strong, with over 116,400 examples sold, accounting for nearly 20% of the company's total production. Pricing began at $4,250 for the Town Sedan and rose to over $4,700 for the convertible.

Standard features included an electric clock, seat belts, and shoulder harnesses, power steering, power windows, power seat adjuster, courtesy lamps, full carpeting, paint stripes, and a Deluxe steering wheel. The upholstery was vinyl, cloth, or leather.

An overhead valve V8 engine provided the power; it was a 455 cubic-inch overhead valve unit that offered 365 horsepower and was backed by a Turbo-Hydramitc transmission.
