The 1987 Nissan 300ZX came equipped with an overhead-cam V6 engine displacing 180.6 cubic-inches and delivering 160 horsepower. For those seeking even more, a turbocharged version was available, bringing power to 200 hp. The front-engine, rear-wheel drive coupes had a five-speed manual transmission with disc brakes located at all four corners. Nissan made styling updates in both the front and rear, including the tail lamps which now traversed the full width of the back end. In the front, the bumper, air dam, and hood became integrated to reduce the overall front area and improve aerodynamics. The auxiliary driving lights were located to under the bumper. The turbocharged cars were given a charcoal colored wheels while the non-turbo cars had a brushed alloy finish. Pricing for the 2-passenger coupe began at $18,500 and the 2+2 coupe listed for $20,650. The turbocharged cars retailed for $21,400.
