2009 Mansory Veyron Linea Vincerò news, pictures, and information

The Mansory individualisation program based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 gets launched initially by a limited edition wîth our Middle East Partner, Prestige Cars Abu Dhabi, exclusively. In spring the Linea Vincerò will be introduced to the public at the Auto Salon 2009 in Geneva.

Vincerò 'I will win'; Nessun Dorma, probably the most famous tenor aria from Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot, gave its name to the overall concept of the current individualisation project from Mansory.

The story is descended from the Persian novella 1001 days. This on the one hand refers to the standard PS - motorisation / the standard PS figures of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, on the other hand it should remind of the origin of Kourosh Mansory, CEO and founder of the Mansory Cooperation. At last the 3 acts of the opera gave the idea for the strictly limited edition of the Linea Vincerò.

The aerodynamic kit is completely built in lightweight construction by using fine carbon fibre for the components. In this way the new material doesn't just cause an exclusive look. It also optimises handling and acceleration!

The front end gets a high-quality facelift that makes the hp-giant look more powerful, especially in combination wîth the modification of the mudguards.

Vital Stats

Lovingly designed accents for an elegant appearance: there are for example integrated LED-elements that emphasise the new lines and forms by underlining the implemented stylised V as homage to the name Vincerò. The bonnet of the fast car is shortened and a new front splitter was integrated. New designed side skirts cause an adequate connection between the front and the rear and continue the sporty- elegant design consequentially.
Bigger air outtakes lead to an optimised cooling of the engine and create a perfect match wîth the new diffuser that is built of carbon fibre as most of the other aerodynamic components for a strong design of the rear end.

Technical innovative strength paired wîth experienced art of engineering raise expectations for unbelievable 1109 hp / 1310 Nm because of optimised air intake and a modification of the exhaust system.

Consequentially Mansory designed new fully forged turbine wheels for the Linea Vincerò. In the passenger compartment you feel surrounded by royal air at once because of the combination of luxury and technique united in selected materials and forms full of poetry. Especially the new ambience illumination system that shines from the door covering and the whole seat geometry catches someone's eye. The complete interior gleams in the
splendour of high-quality carbon fibre and special embossed leather. Contrast coloured accents even decorate the roof lining.

The §teering wheel that includes new gear shift paddels was developed to reach one single target: Vincerò, I will
win!

LINEA Vincerò - Mansory refines the Bugatti Veyron 16.4

'Vincerò! Vincerò! - I will win', that is the self-confident exclamation from Nessun Dorma, probably the most famous tenor aria from Giacomo Puccini´s opera Turandot. And Vincerò is also the name of the latest automobile accessory line by refining specialist Mansory. Mansory already finds many parallels for the new name: The plot of the aria stems from a Persian tale of 1001 days which also relates to the standard motorisation of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 wîth 1,001 hp. On the other hand, it should also refer to the origin of Kourosh Mansory, the founder and CEO of Mansory Corporation. And the opera has another reference to the offered product portfolio by ending after three acts. The LINEA Vincerò edition is also not infinite - the project is strictly limited.

It goes without saying that such a sonorous name is only suitable for an absolutely high-quality programme. Already the Bugatti Veyron serial edition sets standards in terms of price, maximum speed and engine power and leaves its competitors far behind when a contender for the super sports car is to be crowned. Whoever now thinks that everything possible has been achieved, can be proved wrong. Already visually, the changes clearly show. The front part gets a comprehensive face-lift including modified wings, a shorter hood and a striking front apron. The LED daytime running lights integrated in the front mount and the implemented stylised 'V' as a special tribute to the name 'Vincerò' draw even more attention to the car. The newly developed side skirts are the visual and aerodynamic connection between the axles. Larger air outlets at the sides and at the back render optimal engine cooling and in combination wîth the new diffuser, they underline the powerful car design. Mansory manufactures nearly all auto body parts from ultra-light and high-strength carbon. The applied hardening technique wîth strong pressure and high temperatures in the autoclave thereby enormously improve the material quality.

In order to perfect the entire visual appearance, Mansory devised new, striking fully-forged turbine-design wheels for the Linea Vincerò in serial dimensions.

Also, the power engine is refined by Mansory. Technical innovation is combined wîth technical expertise and thereby, an increased cooling air supply and optimised exhaust system produce an unbelievable 1109 hp and 1310 Nm.

The interior is exclusive and yet functional. Also here, Mansory understands how luxury and technology can be harmonically combined. When traditional craftsmanship, selected materials and stylish design merge, the result is an interior of automobile excellence.

This mainly shows by the LED lights of the new Ambiente-Illumination-System which are fitted in the seats, door linings and the dashboard. The entire passenger compartment glows in a soft light which does not only render a comfortable feeling, but also emphasises the high-quality carbon applications and the especially grained leather. The ergonomically designed airbag §teering wheel is both sportive and particularly pliable and is equipped wîth rocker switches.

The Mansory individualisation programme for the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is offered in a limited edition via the Middle East partner 'Prestige Cars Abu Dhabi'.

The Mansory Cooperation GmbH solely offers proprietary developed modification accessories under the name LINEA Vincerò. They do not market entire automobiles and also do not sell any such vehicles.

The trials of the fastest road sports car in the world have been successfully completed. One of the most ambitious projects in automobile history is entering its production phase. The first Bugatti Veyron 16.4 cars, built mainly by hand, are already being completed and will be delivered to customers this year.

The sports car, capable of more than 400 km/h, is driven by a 16-cylinder mid-engine, that at 710 mm long is no larger than a conventional V12 unit, and due to its lightweight construction weighs only about 400 kilos. Its compact dimensions are due to the unique arrangement of its cylinder banks in a W configuration. Two VR8 blocks, each wîth a fifteen degree bank angle, are joined in the crankcase to form one engine. Both eight cylinders are set at an angle of ninety degrees to each other and are aspirated by a total of four exhaust gas turbochargers. The engine delivers 1001 HP at 6,000 r.p.m. and provides a maximum torque of 1250 Newton metres at between 2,200 and 5,500 r.p.m.

To apply the power of the 64-valve unit to achieve satisfactory driving dynamics both in everyday traffic and on the racetrack, the Bugatti development team of Dr. Franz-Joseph Paefgen and Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber has realized a propulsion unit that is without parallel in its complexity. If the extreme engine power is a master stroke of genius, its conversion for road use is an equally tough challenge. As Dr. Schreiber says 'For 1000 HP propulsion power, the system demands approximately 2000 HP to be additionally generated as heat energy during combustion. Half in each case is dissipated in the exhaust gas and cooling water'.

To do this, the Bugatti engine has two water circuits. The larger of the two wîth 40 liters of cooling water has three coolers in the front section of the car, to keep the engine at operating temperature. The second circuit, called the low-temperature system, has a separate water pump and contains 15 liters of cooling water. These are used to cool, by up to 130 degrees, the charged air, heated during compression in the turbochargers, in two heat exchangers mounted on the engine. The cooled, charged air then passes through two 'air manifolds' into the combustion chamber, which it then leaves as exhaust gas at approximately 1,000 degrees. It then passes through the turbines of the exhaust gas turbochargers. This causes the exhaust gas to expand, so that it is cooled by up to about 150 degrees, is then cleaned in the catalyzer and exhausted.

In addition to its unique compactness, the high performance of the power unit is the centrepoint of the dvelopment. Lightweight materials are used that not only result in a low power-to-weight ratio but also particularly provide the spontaneous response of the moving engine-internal masses. In addition to piston rods of titanium, the so called 'easy runners', the eight-stage oil pump integrated into the crankcase for dry sump lubrication has light aluminum gears. Because the arrangement of the 16 cylinders ensures extremely quiet running, only a small flywheel is needed. The use of motor sport technology is evident not only from the plasma-coated running faces of the cylinders but also by the use of high-strength steel for the shafts and gears in the aluminum crankcase.

Únique in engine design is the integration of knock and misfiring detection in an ion current system. Because the multiplicity of cylinders means very quiet running and ensures that the velocity difference will be extremely small in the event of a cylinder misfire, cylinder-selective detection by measuring rough running is not reliable enough. Therefore, Bugatti Ion Current Sensing (BIS) is used. The ion current flowing at each spark plug at the timepoint of ignition is monitored by a separate evaluation sensor system. The data obtained is passed to both engine control units. If knocking combustion or a misfire is detected, the associated control unit immediately initiates countermeasures, such as retardation of the ignition timepoint, shutdown of the cylinder or reduction of the charge pressure. According to the head of Bugatti Únit Development Gregor Gries, 'The aim of our technology is
to generate the maximum performance from the engine in a stable, clean manner'.

The power generated in the engine is transferred to the flange-mounted direct manual gearbox (DSG). The torque and speed is then transmitted, through the gearing of seven forward and one reverse gear, via a universal drive to the front axle gearbox and via a second universal drive, along the right side of the engine to the rear axle gearbox. Both the DSG and both axle gearbox housings are of lightweight aluminum construction. The drive power is distributed to the front and rear axles by means of a Haldex coupling, an actively-controlled multi-disk, inter-axle lock directly connected to the front axle gearbox. The following front axle differential distributes the power to both front wheels. In the rear axle differential the power is distributed to the rear wheels via a bevel gear and a further differential. In addition, an actively-controlled, hydraulically-actuated, multi-disk differential lock is installed here. When necessary, it prevents speed differences between the rear wheels and ensures optimum directional stability when accelerating and when cornering under load. All load distribution functions are completely automatic and are undetected by the driver.

The Bugatti marque has since earliest times been regarded as a central force in the advancement of automobile development by innovative solutions. A position deservedly maintained by the first high-performance sports car of the modern Bugatti.
