Everything is different in the Roomster world. Whether you are a driver or a passenger, in it you will always find a new view of the things around you, another perspective. In it you will enjoy an unexpectedly pleasurable driving experience and unique comfort.

Discover the elegant lines of unconventional design of the Roomster's body and interior. The Roomster is dynamic, emotional, active and sporty at the same time. The Roomster meets your needs and offers you space to live.

Exterior
The Roomster is a car for everyday life, but also distinguishes itself and has a unique character. Its mask and originally shaped headlights, its panoramic windscreen, front and rear doors, large sunroof, and rear lights all attract the attention. This is all evident at first glance.

You will discover other great features right away. For example fog lights wîth 'corner' functionality and headlights wîth an active turning system. You will certainly be surprised when your lights shine round a corner.

Interior
Space, variability, practicality, a welcoming atmosphere. You can find this and many other attributes both in the 'cockpit' behind the wheel and in the 'living room' in the back. Royal comfort is achieved also thanks to a low floor in the back.

Lots of comfort, storage space, the Varioflex seat adjustment system, a panoramic sunroof, a modular dashboard and voluminous luggage space make the Roomster a universal companion on your travels for work and fun.

The Roomster offers comfort for everybody. The 'driving room' is arranged so that everything you need is within reach. There is also a spacious and cosy 'living room' in the back for the passengers.

For comfortable travel in both 'rooms' the Roomster has a lot of elements of basic and additional equipment. Lots of practical storage space, pockets, compartments and holders for small items, documents, glasses, maps and up to 4 litres of drinks are available in the driver's area and in the back, as well as in practical door pockets.

Semi- or fully automatic air-conditioning can ensure the temperature in the car is ideal. A common advantage is its friendliness to the environment – no freons, optimum coolants, and minimum pollutants.

You can listen to music on a Beat or Dance radio. The Dance model plays CD-R, CD-RW, CDs protected against copying and MP3. A CD changer for 6 CDs can be connected to it, as can a walkman, discman, I-pod, or MP3 player. It can also receive traffic reports, radiotext, be connected to a telephone, or show information on a Maxi-DOT display in the driver's line of sight.

A Safe Life
Your car carries not only shopping and luggage, but also your nearest and dearest, so our designers have defined security as a priority.

In addition to the front and side airbags for the driver and passenger, the Roomster has other important safety elements, including the modern electronic systems or headlamps and fog lamps.

The driver's and passenger's airbags belong, together wîth the side airbags to the basic equipment for all versions of the Roomster. You will need to deactivate the passenger's airbag when you carry a child in a car seat on the front passenger's seat. And if you don't want to leave anything to chance, you will certainly decide to have head airbags which, in the event of an accident, cover the whole side of the car. Passengers in the front and the back are also protected. And don't forget! Airbags are most effective when the passengers are wearing seatbelts.

Modern electronic systems also contribute to your safety during travel. Depending on the version you choose, the Roomster is equipped wîth ABS, MSR and Dual Rate, as well as optional ASR. ESP stabilisation electronics gives you certainty when cornering in all circumstances. It also contains the other systems mentioned.

Roomster Scout

The Scout model was created for time that belongs to you. For shorter weeks and longer weekends, for escapes for the city to the countryside, driving new routes... for your own ideas.

The Roomster Scout will adapt to your active lifestyle – it combines variable internal space, comfortable accessories and the attractive appearance of a car for your leisure time.

You don't have to worry about lòòking for new paths, the special Scout packet enhances the car wîth all-terrain elements. It comprises characteristic protective covers, a silver 'off-road' lower covering of the rear bumper and light alloy wheels that were developed solely for this model. The stand-out exterior is supplemented by SunSet – glass wîth a higher degree of tint in the rear part of the vehicle.

The interior is equipped as standard wîth Onyx upholstered fabric covers. The unmatched variability of the internal arrangement is guaranteed by the VarioFlex system in this model of the Roomster. It is formed by three independent rear seats that can be handled variously.

Would you prefer a petrol or diesel engine? The petrol engine range includes 1.4 16V/63 kW and 1.6 16V/77 kW engines. You can fill up on diesel wîth a 1.4 TDI PD/59 kW engine or a more powerful 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW.

ŠKODA AUTO'S SALES GREW BY 7.1 % LAST YEAR

Compared wîth 2007, Škoda Auto's total sales grew by 7.1 % and reached 674,530 vehicles, a new record in the history of the Czech Republic's largest car manufacturer. Considering the impact of the financial crisis in the second half of 2008, this is an excellent result. The Company's sales grew primarily thanks to the markets in China and Eastern Europe. However, even the West European markets are not unsuccessful – although the overall passenger car market slumped by 8.4%, the brand's share in this region grew to 2.3 %.
Škoda Auto's sales in Eastern Europe grew by 30.1 % and reached 123,630 vehicles – the most dynamically growing market in 2008 was Russia, where the Company sold 50,733 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 84.2%.

The Czech Republic's largest car manufacturer delivered altogether 59,284 vehicles to China in 2008, 117 % more than in 2007. A further 16,051 were delivered to customers in India, 31.9% more than over the previous year.

Germany remains Škoda Auto's strongest market in Western Europe. The Company increased its market share to 3.9% in 2008, despite the 1.8% overall passenger car market slump. German customers registered 121,277 vehicles in 2008, 2% more than in 2007.

With 344,857 vehicles sold last year in total, i.e., 11.3% more than in 2007, the Octavia (Octavia a Octavia Tour) was Škoda's best selling model also in 2008. The runner-up in terms of sales volumes is the Škoda Fabia (246,561 vehicles worldwide, + 5.9 %), the vehicle wîth the biggest percentage growth was the new-generation Škoda Superb (+ 24.9 %, 25,645 vehicles in total). In addition, the Company sold 57,467 Roomsters.

'Despite the current difficulties, we have managed to keep positive sales trends in some of our markets. We are going to continue monitoring Russia, China and India. Although the future sales trends are difficult to estimate now, we believe that the demand for small vehicles such as the Škoda Fabia will grow worldwide, as this category offers financial savings and is in line wîth the growing environmental awareness. We also hope that our new models to be launched in 2009 will be a success,' said Fred Kappler, Škoda Auto BOD Member responsible for sales.
