Coachwork: Hess & Eisenhardt
Chassis #: 60A078083
There were only a few styling changes introduced by Cadillac in 1960 and mechanically, it retained the same specifications as the 1959. This very unique automobile was ordered by the Cleveland, Ohio Cadillac dealer as a gift for his wife. It was sent to the coachbuilder Hess & Eisenhardt in Cincinnati for customization. In 1965, this four-door hardtop station wagon was acquired by the current owner's grandfather and has remained in the same family ever since. It spent many years in dry, heated storage, and upon its emergence, it was mechanically serviced. It has fewer than 66,000 original miles and is reported to be in good condition. It has many power accessories, including windows and an electric tailgate. There is Di-Noc wood-graining, Eldorado-style wheels, factory air-conditioning, sire, custom roof rack, and a spotlight. It is painted in its 1960s shade of green. In 2009, this Hess & Eisenhardt bodied Station Wagon was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was expected to sell for $60,000 - $75,000 and offered without reserve. The lot was sold for a high bid of $66,000 including the buyer's premium.
