1984 TVR 390 SE news, pictures, and information
The TVR 390 SE was produced from 1984 through 1986. The engine was the work of TVR Engineering and Andy Rouse, a Rover Tuning specialist, who produced an extra 85 horsepower from a Rover V8. The bore of the engine was increased, making displacement 3905cc. Larger valves and Cosworth machined pistons were fitted, along with a high lift camshaft and gas flowed cylinder heads. Power was sent to the rear wheels via a Borg Warner T5 five-speed gearbox. On all four corners were wide Yokohama tires offering better performance and the ability to transfer the 275 horsepower to the road.
Top speed was achieved at nearly 145 mph with zero-to-sixty taking just 5.6 seconds. For more information and related vehicles, click
