◾On track to become the youngest Master Technician in the Group

◾One of only six technicians to reach the final at the Skills Show in November

High-flying technician Harry Garraway has been chosen to represent Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at this year's Skills Show, which is being held at the NEC in Birmingham from 17-19 November. This is a huge achievement for 20-year-old Harry, who is one of only six technicians in the UK to reach the final.

Currently working at Heritage Volkswagen Van Centre Bristol, Harry has made a huge impression since joining the Volkswagen Group three and a half years ago. He completed his Apprentice Programme at the end of 2015, went on to become a Qualified Technician in March this year, and is well on the way to achieving his ambition of becoming a Master Tech ahead of his 21st birthday in April 2017.

Harry has demonstrated a host of skills along the way, and has been named Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' Apprentice of the Year as well as Volkswagen Group Apprentice of the Year – having scored a perfect 100 per cent against the set criteria. In addition Harry is one of just five apprentices who have been shortlisted for the IMI Outstanding Achievers award 2016.

Erica Belsom, People Development Manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: 'We couldn't be prouder of Harry here at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. It is an incredible achievement for him in such a short space of time. His dedication, hard work and commitment to the cause has got him to where he is today and is an inspiration to everyone in the Volkswagen Group.'

Harry said: 'I couldn't be happier! It's like a dream come true being selected to represent Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at the Skills Show. In the last three years, I've learnt so much and grown not only as an apprentice and employee, but also as a person.
