1983 Datsun Maxima

The 1983 Datsun/Nissan was available as either a sedan or a station wagon. Power was from an inline overhead-cam six-cylinder engine that displaced 146 cubic-inches and produced 120 horsepower. Also available was a diesel powered 168 cubic-inch version that offered 80 horsepower. The Maxima was fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox on the sedan and a four-speed automatic on the station wagon. The vehicle received a few exterior modifications for 1983, including revisions to the tail lamp and updates to the grille.

Buyers could purchase the Maxima with leather interior and/or a power sunroof for an additional price.

Datsun/Nissan sold 647,542 vehicles (cars and trucks) in the United States for 1983, with 76,209 of those being the Maxima model.
