1937 Adler Rennlimousine Competition news, pictures, and information

One of three competition Adlers built and this car is the only remaining example. This front wheel drive Trumpf chassis aerodynamic coupe was the only 1.5-liter Adler to compete at LeMans and SPA. Designed according to Paul Jaray Patents, their purpose was to capture the 2-liter crows at race courses and long distance events. Their successes at SPA and LeMans made automotive headlines and stimulated the creation of several other streamlined competition cars. In 1938 LeMans it was car number 33 driven by Otto Lohr and Count Paul Von Gilleaume, the car won its class and finished the race 7th overall. This beautiful example has been fully restored to its original specs and was an award winner at the 1996 Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance.
