2000 Dodge MAXXCab Concept

Dodge introduced its MAXXcab Concept in 2000 at the Detroit Auto Show where it considered a 'Passenger Priority Truck.' It was a four-door sport utility pickup truck riding on a modified Dodge Dakota chassis and powered by a 4.7-liter Magnum V-8 backed by a multi-speed electronic automatic transmission.

The Dodge MAXXcab Concept had a shortened utility bed, seating for five, and a minivan style interior. It was designed purely as a concept, however, several features and design cues were used on subsequent Dodge production, including the Dodge Ram Mega Cab of 2006 that favored passengers and interior room over pickup truck bed capacity.
